Ch-Ch-Changes

So, I’ve been nearly absentee lately. Terribly behind on responding to messages and comments, etc., but the end of the year has had my real world life hopping. Work, work, work and no time to even think about my trip at the end of the month! One more week of work and then off on vacation until January 11th – ahh, this is the way to do it! Okay, first off, something I’ve been wanting to talk about but was:

Something of an Update

It was pointed out recently that it’s been awhile since I’ve posted much outside of my photos. There’s a plethora of reasons for that, but by and large boring. When I’ve had spare time lately, my life has been either taking pictures or editing them. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a hobby suck me in so completely. And as I did report on here,

How I Spent My Day

So, I guess if you don’t stroke your own ego, who will? I did go down to the My Atlanta photo show in Piedmont Park today and posted four of my Atlanta shots from between now and spring. All of them are featured in a previous journal at my deviant art gallery. Now, putting this all in perspective, it’s a free show and all levels are welcome. After I put my pieces in, I wandered off for awhile while other people were setting up and soaked in some of the … Continue reading

Mark’s Rattlesnake Roundup

Today’s title brought to us by the letter R is just my nutso way of saying that there will be a cacophony of topics ahead. A little of everything and little of value to world peace. Does the World Need Superman? Friday night, I met up with some friends, Chris and Dan, to catch Superman Returns. I had hope to see it Wednesday night after work, but work would have no part of that idea. I worked late every day. So, Friday, I scooted home and then off to meet … Continue reading

Down Home

Longggggg week at work. I was planning to do “flex time” – i.e. work 40 hours in 4 days to have a long weekend. Not for fun per se. I had a dentist appointment today (and yes, my Dentist is here until he retires) and I also ended up needing rear brake bads replaced, so I got my car in at mechanic here today. I say I was planning because as it turned out, I would have worked long hours anyway. In fact, I still have like 8 hours of … Continue reading

It’s Just Money, right?

So, all my life, I’ve noticed that I’ve combined the best and worst of my families. I can be incredibly tight-fisted with money, and then I’ll go bonkers and spend like there’s no tomorrow on which to worry. So, I’ve recently been more on the latter end of things. For instance, I’m sitting here typing this on my laptop in the middle of the living room floor. So, yes, I bought the laptop mentioned earlier, wireless router, etc. The latest purchase was a laptop desk, more to keep the laptop … Continue reading

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing….

Long day… This morning, I managed to crunch my universal remote control. Mind you, this wasn’t a cheapy one, but one that I had bought a few years ago that could learn from other remotes and could record macros so that I didn’t have to hit a thousand buttons to power up the TV, cable box, receiver, etc. I accidentally knelled on it and the LCD cracked. WAHHHHHHHHH!!!! or maybe… KAHHHHHHHNNNNN!!!!!!! Anyway, I digress… This prompted an unplanned purchase. I did a little online research and then went to Fry’s. … Continue reading

A Hero for All Ages

So the reading list has been sparse lately as I’ve been waiting for the first shipment of comics via mail since the last pick-up from Chris. In the interim, however, I’ve had time to work on some of the trades, etc. that have been waiting my attention. Maybe as long as a year ago, DC Comics, seemingly with little fanfare, released Volume One of The Batman Chronicles, which I read months ago. This is DC’s reprinting of Batman’s earliest stories, in the original order published. Definitely worth a read for … Continue reading

Instructions not Instructive

Life is Random Yesterday, I was heading home from work, barely a couple of miles from the office when I saw a white blazer waiting to merge in with heavy traffic from the opposite side of the road and doing my bit of good kharma, let the driver in. Now the funny part is that after the blazer merges in front of me, I spot the Autobot symbol on he rear window. Neat, I think, a Transformer fan. And then I think how odd that is since my cousin, Brian, … Continue reading

Weekend Wandering

askHad a nice weekend. I got jack done at home of the things I should have done, but sometimes that’s better. Saturday I slept until noon… yes… noon. And then I napped some more. I did finish painting the trim on the stairs that night but that’s all I accomplished for the entire weekend. I didn’t even put the hardware back on the doors in the hall, pick up the paint paper or clean the carpet so that I can move stuff back into the hall. So, very little accomplished. … Continue reading
