I Can Laugh Now

Picture this, I had to go to Chicago on a business trip this past week.  There wasn’t a lot of advance notice, but it was not the first time, so I sailed through the trip arrangements and off I went. Arrived Monday afternoon for an all day meeting Tuesday.  Tuesday flew by, quite busy, and I hopped back in the rental car and drove to O’hare.   Checked in the car and got to the terminal, rushed to the Delta Kiosk, and swiped my credit card.  I half paid attention when … Continue reading

DragonCon 2005 – it’s a wrap

This year was very low-key but a welcome change to last year where someone attempted to break into my Blazer and Brian & Kelly were attacked INSIDE of the Hyatt. I was so down on the whole thing that I almost made other plans this year. But Brandy planted the seed of doubt that she might not come next year so I reluctantly came along. ThatI’ve been royally busy at work the past few weeks made the time-off all the nicer. Work, as ever, remains a confusing beast. In my … Continue reading

London – Again?

Yep, I’m going to the Old City on the Thames once more. I never thought I’d say, “going to London, again.” As if there’s something old hat about it. I just really need some time off from work, and well, feeling financially stupid at the moment, so last night, I booked a good fare to London. I had thought about a few possibilities, including Rome (too expensive from this point onward) Road Trip to Mexico (RCPM concert in mid-May plus I’ve long wanted to drive out west) Just spending time … Continue reading

Crazy Dreams & RIP

Had some anxiety surface in a dream last night. Not really sure of the source of it at the moment. But in retrospect, the dream was rather funny. I, apparently, was traveling and arrived at the airport with only my backpack, which contained no clothing. I checked the pack in and then when it was time to board the plane realized that I had nothing to read, nothing to listen to – everything was in the one bag I checked. This was when I realized that I had brought NOTHING … Continue reading

Today was a subdued Christmas. My Mom has a little tribe of outdoor kittens. Their momma had them here last Spring and left after awhile. Most of the kittens remained behind plus we had a couple of others show up (perhaps helped by someone over the fence into our back yard). A few of them will come in if the weather is bad, but by and large, they have remained outside cats. This morning, one of them, Tiger, was missing. My Mom was the first to find him… He had … Continue reading

DragonCon 2001 – Day 1

Day One of DragonCon 2001 ended last night. Was a long day of course! Drove to the airport to pick up Brandy and her friends, Jan and Karilyn, yesterday morning. I was late and, of course, their plane was early, but it worked out that I got there just a few minutes before they got off, so surprisingly for my normal luck, it worked out well! We circled the area of the Marriott for probably 20 minutes trying to find the street that ran in front of it so I … Continue reading

Been a LONG week at work and I know I need to go in tomorrow to catch up on some of my neglected work. I watched my Road Trip DVD tonight (finally)! Definitely a nice way to wind down the week! Wish I’d come up with something to spend the evening doing but since I have to leave for the airport around noon Sunday, I need to get some laundry and such done. So, tonight has become laundry night and tomorrow will be a morning spent in the office catching … Continue reading
