Okay, I can only guess at how long they’ve been awaited, but I have been very MIA of late.  Nothing super exciting, but I suppose I should do a bit of updating here. So, all my life, I’ve noticed that I’ve combined the best and worst of my families. I can be incredibly tight-fisted with money, and then I’ll go bonkers and spend like there’s no tomorrow on which to worry. So, I’ve recently been more on the latter end of things. Weekend Wandering

askHad a nice weekend. I got jack done at home of the things I should have done, but sometimes that’s better. Saturday I slept until noon… yes… noon. And then I napped some more. I did finish painting the trim on the stairs that night but that’s all I accomplished for the entire weekend. I didn’t even put the hardware back on the doors in the hall, pick up the paint paper or clean the carpet so that I can move stuff back into the hall. So, despite being cool yesterday, in an almost fall-like manner, the sun was bright and beautiful. I know this because I saw it from my window. So, I came home last Sunday and made a quick pit stop in my rarely used downstairs bathroom. It’s pretty strictly for guests as I can’t fathom the reason for me to dirty up more than one bathroom solo. So, I run in, use it and flush, and I feel a splash of water on my leg… huh? When I moved into my townhouse, darn near 5 years ago, there was a stain in the dining room carpet that would not come out. Have spent the long holiday weekend enjoying time away from the office, but spending the proceeds! Over the course of the weekend, got a TV tuner card, a new 200 gig hard drive, and a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. The latter two overlap somewhat, as I got a wireless keyboard which includes a built in mouse. Today was a subdued Christmas. My Mom has a little tribe of outdoor kittens. Their momma had them here last Spring and left after awhile. Most of the kittens remained behind plus we had a couple of others show up (perhaps helped by someone over the fence into our back yard). A few of them will come in if the weather is bad, but by and large, they have remained outside cats. This morning, one of them, Tiger, was missing. Another weekend is here and I’m being so lazy. I woke up at 8:30am and all I’ve done is read the paper and a little hand pruning of my garden. I need to finish cleaning the house. I’m in the midst of refinancing my house (of course after all the best deals have passed by). The appraiser is coming tomorrow. First post of the New Year! Had a nice Christmas at home with the family. Spent a full week with my parents. I think that may be the first time since I moved to Atlanta 6 years ago.
