I Can Laugh Now

Picture this, I had to go to Chicago on a business trip this past week.  There wasn’t a lot of advance notice, but it was not the first time, so I sailed through the trip arrangements and off I went. Arrived Monday afternoon for an all day meeting Tuesday.  Tuesday flew by, quite busy, and I hopped back in the rental car and drove to O’hare.   Checked in the car and got to the terminal, rushed to the Delta Kiosk, and swiped my credit card.  I half paid attention when … Continue reading

Something of an Update

It was pointed out recently that it’s been awhile since I’ve posted much outside of my photos. There’s a plethora of reasons for that, but by and large boring. When I’ve had spare time lately, my life has been either taking pictures or editing them. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a hobby suck me in so completely. And as I did report on here,

Cannot Deny Geekiness

So, despite being cool yesterday, in an almost fall-like manner, the sun was bright and beautiful. I know this because I saw it from my window. Despite my gung-ho attitude to get out and enjoy Saturday, I was tired and bum-like and barely stirred before noon. And when I was finally up and moving, I came in and began spring cleaning on my 4 year old PC. This is the geeky part. I actually feel bad that I’ve never done a clean install on it. In four years, I’ve just … Continue reading

Too much coke and fraud

So, t’s been a long couple of days. Right before bed last night, I got an e-mail from Chris, my comic connection. It was one I’d expected awhile. First off, I’ve been getting comics from Chris for like 4 years now or darn close to. I stuck with a store in Decatur for nearly a year before deciding to look into something nearer by. I checked out several stores before stopping into Drake’s Comics and really liking what I saw. It was a great shop. Chris totally knew his stuff … Continue reading

DragonCon 2005 – it’s a wrap

This year was very low-key but a welcome change to last year where someone attempted to break into my Blazer and Brian & Kelly were attacked INSIDE of the Hyatt. I was so down on the whole thing that I almost made other plans this year. But Brandy planted the seed of doubt that she might not come next year so I reluctantly came along. ThatI’ve been royally busy at work the past few weeks made the time-off all the nicer. Work, as ever, remains a confusing beast. In my … Continue reading

Preserving The Past

Have spent the long holiday weekend enjoying time away from the office, but spending the proceeds! Over the course of the weekend, got a TV tuner card, a new 200 gig hard drive, and a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. The latter two overlap somewhat, as I got a wireless keyboard which includes a built in mouse. Fine when I only want to do a click or two, but I wasn’t convinced I could totally do without a more traditional mouse. I finally got everything hooked up this morning … Continue reading

Life’s Firsts & Miscellany

Ah, behind on the updates to my life again. I spent the past weekend at home. It was a nice break from the fast pitch that work has become. I didn’t see a lot of my Dad (it was Father’s Day) because he had to work (things where he works have been “interesting” of late, too). And I had to take Leo, my new kitten, to the Vet on Saturday. I had hoped to get his shots soon and talked to the Vet about it, but he has a cold, … Continue reading

Photos For Me

I posted a couple of my larger pictures from London last April. I didn’t take many at a very high resolution, but the guy at the site checked these out and felt that size-wise, they could work. He also mentioned possibly making some sort of option where the photographers could select the largest size something could be printed at. I think that would be cool. I’ve got some pictures that I like that I think could make decent small prints, maybe greeting cards? The neat thing about the site is … Continue reading

Family Time Spent the evening over in Lilburn with Brian (my cousin) and Kelly (his GF). This was our nearly annual Christmas get together. This year I brought along National Lampoons’ Christmas Vacation. For me, this is tradition. I don’t know when I began watching this each and every year, but eventually I had to own it on DVD just to insure that a year does not go by that I miss it. This year, Brian & Kelly joined this tradition. Neither had seen the movie in years, which is … Continue reading
